Principle 2: The truth is simple

  • Prevent falling for complex lies and act on them.

  • Long and complex narratives are the opposite of the simple truth.

Reflection:

When solving a problem you prefer simplicity. Too much information that does not seem to have clarity, too complex, and too many details that distract from the main issue do not help at all. If you or your counterpart understand the problem it would be very easy to explain in a few words. If that is not the case, you need to simplify it instead of digging any deeper. The simpler, the closer to the truth and the possibility to take action in the right direction.

An incredible outcome of applying this principle is that once the truth is identified, the action would always be headed in the right direction afterward.

(This principle is part of the 50 principles that Ryan Blair shares in his Altercall course).
