Principle 1: The further you go the further you see

  • It is not necessary to take steps in the right direction but take any steps.

Reflection:

It is important to be aware of the options we have whenever faced with dilemmas. We could be trapped in situations where we might think waiting on it is the best choice because we do not know where to go, that might be the case, but not all the time. There are other situations where you need more information and taking steps whether or not in the right direction would give a better glance of the situation.

So, if there is more information needed and shaking the tree would let you have at least part of it, go for it. It takes courage to move into the unknown. It is fun too, and you'll get to learn a lot from it.

The benefit of practicing this principle is that we become more efficient with our time management. We would get things done faster gaining some wisdom in the process. The compound effect of it over time could turn impressive.

(This principle is part of the 50 principles that Ryan Blair shares in his Altercall course).
